Filmbites' fun and educational 3 day Make-a-Movie workshop is especially for 9 to 12 yr olds interested in movies, acting or stories, or those just looking to do something new and creative.
Our young creators will devise a story idea with the group, learn about film equipment and how to use it, learn a few tips about the craft of screen acting, then jump right in and shoot a short film (approx. 5 minutes duration - we are shooting for quality over quantity!).
They can experience being script writer, director, cast and/or crew, depending on their interests.
To ensure everyone gets a go at all elements of the process, this workshop is limited to a maximum of 10.
The film will then be edited off-site and screened on the big screen in Camelot's Indoor Theatre a few weeks later. Participants will also receive a copy of their film to keep by email-able link.
Your instructor will be local filmmaker and editor Tim Green. Tim is a graduate of Murdoch University's film course, directed "Bodhi" which was selected for screening at WA's Cinefest Oz film festival, and works regularly on local film productions, including Rams, I Met a Girl and Itch 2. As a long-term and much loved Filmbites instructor, Tim has vast experience guiding young people through the creative process, having facilitated, assisted or edited well over 100 student films!
Your course fee is $280 and includes all equipment, your completed film, complimentary tickets to your private screening and free pizza for your Friday wrap party!
